Catherine Darnell on Hope’s Tapestry: Stories of Renewed Faith Through The Pain of Abuse

My post today showcases Ms. Catherine Darnell, one of the speakers at the TEDxSunRiver event held on Saturday, June 23rd, 2012 at the SunRiver Ballroom in St. George, Utah. “Catherine is a powerful advocate for sexual abuse victims. In her early childhood, she experienced the trauma of abuse within a faith community that was supposed to be safe. After decades of living with ambiguity in her life and faith, Catherine sought answers for the meaning of her life.

“Through renewed faith she discovered the pain of her abuse could bring unexpected purpose to her life.”

Catherine is about to launch her new online publication called Hope’s Tapestry. It will be a powerful platform for victims of sexual abuse to share their stories of strength, courage, and renewal. It is her desire to inspire others to be part of the change, by sharing amazing stories of courage and hope from around the globe.

I’m so happy to support Catherine’s mission in whatever way I can. Please take a moment to view Catherine’s video. And, if you are moved by her mission, please let her know by selecting the YouTube Video’s Like selection. I will let you know the launch-date for Hope’s Tapestry. Warm regards, Deborah.

FYI: In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
