Happy Birthday dear America. Thank you for opening your arms to my immigrant parents over 50 years ago and to people from all over the world. You give us chances to grow, to educate ourselves, and to develop whatever is in our hearts and minds. My parents raised six children, educated them, and built a business on your vision and principles. I want to thank you personally from the bottom of my heart for the richness you have shared with all of us. God bless. Warmly, Deborah
To all of my wonderful friends of Psychology in Everyday Life, thank you. How wonderful that we can voice our experience and opinions in a forum like this. Have a beautiful, inspired day. Love Deborah.
Thank you for this salute to our great nation. I will probably continue to gripe occasionally about the state of the economy, government spending and handling of foreign policy. Nevertheless, I LOVE the U.S.A. with all my heart, as you do. And, we have mom and dad to thank for this. Some might be surprised to learn our immigrant parents were so patriotic. I recall dad saying many times that “America is the greatest nation in the world.” They considered American citizenship a blessing, and they made the most of all the opportunity citizenship afforded them. They paid their taxes, worked hard, obeyed the law, hung the American flag on the house, and celebrated Independence Day alongside their non-immigrant neighbors. They were awesome examples of what it means to be an American. I’m grateful to them for giving us the gift of pride in and loyalty to this great nation. God bless America, indeed, Deb! Happy 4th of July!
